Project Restore Hope

“Veterans Healing Veterans, One Connection at a Time”

"Next Peak - Project Restore Hope" is a visionary initiative designed to breathe new life into Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW) facilities across America, starting with the transformation of VFW Post 5431 in Solana Beach. At its core, the project seeks to address the pressing needs of combat veterans, particularly considering the current backlog within the VA medical system. By converting these spaces into integrative holistic healing centers, the aim is to provide a wide array of accessible therapies and support services, ranging from mental health counseling to physical rehabilitation programs.

Central to the revitalization efforts is the creation of a warm and welcoming environment reminiscent of a second home. This will involve the addition of amenities such as a public coffee shop, which will not only serve veterans but also generate revenue to sustain the operational costs of the facility.

Additionally, dedicated workstations will be made available for veterans in need of a space to work away from home, catering to their professional needs while fostering a sense of belonging.

Beyond the physical transformation, the ultimate aspiration of "Project Restore Hope" is to establish a vibrant community hub where veterans can converge for healing and integration. By nurturing human connections and fostering a sense of camaraderie, the project endeavors to not only save lives but also cultivate enduring bonds among veterans.

To realize these ambitious objectives, the project has set a fundraising goal of $1.5 million. This financial support will be instrumental in facilitating the renovation and repurposing of the VFW facility, as well as sustaining the ongoing operations of the integrative holistic healing center.

Benefits of the Restoration Project:
  • 40% increase in usable hall meeting space.
  • Mold abatement, addressing years of water damage.
  • Implementation of measures to make the building handicap accessible.
  • Installation of a new electrical system with solar and battery backup, reducing monthly expenses.
  • Additional space for physical and mental therapies.
  • Updated commercial kitchen for VFW member and fundraising events.
  • Addition of tubs for cold/hot therapies.
  • Creation of a coffee shop serving the general public, generating revenue and fostering interactions between veterans and the community.
