Our Approach
NextPeak’s treatment combines the best practices of two models of support:
Highly Specialized Mental and Physical Therapies
- Our specially trained therapists help Combat Operators let go of destructive behaviors so they can re-connect with themselves and engage in positive and meaningful relationships.
- Combat Operators select a licensed mental health professional of their choice for 1:1 concierge treatment. (Family members may also engage in individual, couples and/or family treatment.)
- Combat Operators select a support mentor and or join a peer support group of choice. (In person or virtual.)
- Because the body keeps the score, we pair all our mental healing with state of art physical therapies designed to release the traumas that have been stored in the body.
- Peer support groups and 12 steps programs are also available at Next Peak Headquarters.
Many veterans battle fear and anxiety, often related to receiving a medical or psychiatric diagnosis. These conditions, combined with the dynamics of adapting to civilian life, often lead to additional stress.
Unfortunately, traditional solutions, whether it be through the Veterans Administration or Tricare, often turn into difficult games of trial and error. It is common for veterans to cycle through multiple therapists and/or medical treatments over a period of weeks, months and even years, in search of healing. All too often, this process leaves them exhausted and hopeless, the very opposite of the intended solution.
We start with three critical pillars of care
Empowerment
We re-inspire Combat Operators to dedicate the same level of commitment it took to serve our country and apply it to themselves so they can perform at their highest level on the Homefront.
Connection
We re-train Combat Operators to connect with themselves so they can experience a sense of peace and wholeness in their lives.
Community
We re-tribe Combat Operators with guys-just like them-in a culture that reinforces healthy behaviors and values openness, honesty and vulnerability.
Our program is designed to lift each client to a place of empowerment, and to teach them how to build a future based on hope and healing, rather than despair and pain.
Our licensed mental health professionals help our clients face the fear, shame, guilt and anxiety associated with injury, brain trauma, family conflict, and psychiatric diagnosis.
Our peer support team uses trained fellow veterans to interrupt our client’s tendencies to isolate and withdraw and through a combination of listening, reflection, and role-modeling, helps clients in their process of healing.
Our crisis response team offers immediate access to support in times of crisis, and just as importantly, an education on the preventative steps they can take to improve their future well being.
